Alex Browning - Director

Alex Browning is a director and writer based in the UK. 

Daylight Rules, Alex’s short film made with Sky and BFI, starring T'Nia Miller and David Ajala, is out now on Sky in the UK & Ireland, and DUST worldwide. The film had its' international première in New York at TIDE Film Festival, and won 'Best Afrofuturism' at Atlanta Sci-Fi Film Festival, both festivals supported by HBO. 

Alex directed the second episode of BBC's three-part drama series Granite Harbour (season 2) in Scotland, and was named as a Broadcast HotShot for 2024. Prior to this, Alex directed on episodic TV dramas in the UK, and made a number of short films with commissions from BFI Network, Sky Studios, and Channel 4. 

As a writer, Alex is in currently in development on the feature film version of Daylight Rules, and a TV drama mini-series that plays with time, memory and perspective. He has been on talent labs with Edinburgh International Film Festival and Screen Yorkshire, and in writers' rooms with BadWolf and Channel 4. 

Alex’s stories and visual tapestry are anchored by element and nature, existing as meditations on the intersections of faith, spirituality and power.
